Here’s another one for our ever-growing post-quarantine travel wish lists (assuming U.S. passports aren’t just canceled forever now): Beijing’s Zhongshuge bookstore, which features some very dreamy book tunnels.
According to X+Living, the design firm behind the literary wonderland, the tunnels are an homage to the moon gates in traditional Chinese gardens.
They lead to different spaces in the store, including a children’s reading room and a café.
In the meantime, drool over the photos on X+Living’s website, and while you’re there, check out the interiors of Zhongshuge’s Chongqing location—equally breathtaking, but slightly more Escher-esque.
So many magnificent bookstores, so little capacity to travel more than a mile from my apartment…
